Project Experience

Recent projects have seen PAStech play an integral role in the engineering, development, and commissioning of control systems for large-scale and mega-projects, including multi-billion-dollar developments across energy and resources. Our experience spans thousands of assets, extensive pipeline networks, and complex processing facilities, delivered across both greenfield and brownfield environments.

Selected Project Highlights

Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Developments

Involvement in Three multi-billion-dollar Coal Seam Gas (CSG) developments, delivering control system engineering and commissioning across:

  • Multiple Gas Processing Facilities
  • 2,000+ well sites

  • 1000’s km of pipeline

  • Water treatment Facilities
  • Main line valves (MLVs)

  • Pig launching and receiving stations

  • Water gathering stations

Large-Scale Processing Plant Expansion (Greenfield & Brownfield)

Platforms: Yokogawa CENTUM

Delivered control system engineering support for a major processing plant expansion, increasing plant throughput from an existing operation to more than double its original capacity.

The project was executed in two separable stages, combining large-scale greenfield construction with complex brownfield integration into an operating facility.

  • Control system logic and graphics development in line with client-defined DCS standards

  • Engineering support for new crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, gravity recovery, concentrate handling, tailings, utilities, air, and water systems

  • Integration of multiple new process areas into the existing plant

  • Modification of existing control systems to align with updated DCS logic and graphics standards

  • Ensuring consistency and operability across new and existing facilities

This project required close coordination across construction, commissioning, and operations to deliver a seamless transition between greenfield assets and live plant systems, while maintaining standardisation and operational continuity

Control Systems Defect Resolution (CSG)

Platforms: Yokogawa CENTUM, FAST/TOOLS HMI, STARDOM RTU

Delivered the resolution of 400+ minor control system defects across gas processing facilities (GPF), produced water facilities (PCF), water treatment facilities (WFT), water gathering stations (WGS), and wellhead sites following project close-out — restoring system integrity and operational confidence.

Gas Processing Facility – One Button Start

Platforms: Yokogawa CENTUM, FAST/TOOLS HMI

Engineered and implemented a one-button automated start-up sequence across 15 gas trains, improving start-up consistency, reducing operator workload, and minimising operational risk.

Compressor Facility Re-Wire & Commissioning

Platforms: Allen-Bradley PLC, HIMA SIS

Delivered wiring upgrades across 12 compressor facilities to meet current Australian Standards, followed by full commissioning of compressor control and safety systems.

Legacy Site Obsolescence Upgrade

Platforms: Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa CENTUM, Citect HMI, industrial networks and security systems

Provided engineering and project management to upgrade multiple legacy sites, aligning control, network, and security systems with current client standards.

CENTUM Metering Station Upgrade

Platforms: Yokogawa CENTUM, FAST/TOOLS

Completed engineering for a metering station upgrade, including the integration of two new flow computers into an existing live facility.

Brownfield Wellhead Engineering & Commissioning

Platforms: Emerson DeltaV, Fisher ROC, Fisher FloBoss

Vendor Packages: ABB MCBs, ABB VSDs, UniCo Linear Rod Pumps, Caterpillar Gensets

Delivered engineering and commissioning for brownfield wellhead upgrades, ranging from single-well sites to five-well pads, integrating multiple vendor packages into existing control systems.
